Briefly: Regina's Synthetik Blonde unveils 'empowering' new album

It’s the second album by Regina duo Stefani Michele Kleppe and Bradley Evanochko, whose fusion of synth pop, disco, and guitar-driven rock gives a “hat tip to the ’70s and ’80s and rims the glass with modern flare,” according to a media release.

Their influences include the Doobie Brothers, Pink Floyd, Madonna, Whitney Houston, Journey and Joe Satriani.

Pieces is a deeply personal album for Kleppe, who’s looking to “break down walls” and inspire others through self-acceptance and liberation after previously struggling through periods of “severe depression” and “toxic relationships.”

“I poured my heart and soul into writing ‘Pieces.’ It’s quite literally my life story,” Kleppe says in the release. “There was a time in my life when I was convinced by the voices of others and the voices inside my own mind that I wasn’t worthy of love, nor would I ever be. I know there are many who can relate.”

The eight-track concept album (available now on streaming services) uses her experiences to “delve into the depths of the human condition” and offer a “cheeky and empowering feminine finger-pointing at breaking free of societal norms.”
